Hey Wyr,... Yes. I recently experienced a similar occurrence when I changed back to 9mm. I had adjusted the die until it conflicted with a full stroke and still was not getting a good enough flare. I felt stupid when I figured out what my problem was. I only have one powder measure and so I took it ...

Shadowdog's videos are excellent. Carrier alignment is a lot easier than it sounds! Also your case ejector must engage the hole in the top of the shellplate on the right hand side to prevent reverse slop at the end of your stroke. If not, your press will not always index. Shadowdog explains this as ...

+ one on what daboone said. Hey Smitty, by 3rd generation, do you mean a new or revised edition of the primer trough, or just the third production run of the new primer trough ? Somewhere I read Lee was going to send out a modified version of the new trough for field testing.( to one of our members)...

Wow Jerry, you may be onto something. The new primer trough is also listed as unavailable... I was on the site about a month back researching what I need to do 44 spec & mags and I clicked on the clearance section. They had a bunch of LM caliber specific presses on sale for, as memory serves me ...

Hey Wyr, Bummer man. On the bright side, I have no doubt Lee will send you a new one promptly. I have learned to stop and see what the cause of a "hard cycle" is before I break something but not before mangling my only two old style sliders...Hope you get up and running again soon. Time to...

Hey Smitty, Take a look at that recurved piece of plastic at the primer trough entrance. I think that is where I had all of my issues start. It can also become lodged out of place , it needs to be sticking into the slider area. It can get caught outside of the area stuck behind the slider trough. Re...

The primers will sit in the main trough untill the primer arm is pushed back by the new case. Primers can in fact be pushed into the ram if you have the issue I had with my first one. I'm pretty sure the main purpose of the "recurved" plastic arm,is to make sure only one primer enters the ...

OK so now I have eclipsed 2000 rounds on my LM. I am still learning the ropes but have adjusted my carrier and also my ejector plate and that has helped my indexing 100 %. I am still having some priming issues with the new trough but I can now tell when a primer is missed or tipped and so I just sto...

Hey Jumping Frog great picks, Thanks, I bet a lot of new guys (and gals?) will really benefit from them. In 9mm you will find a lot of NT stuff as well as 9 x 19 and some others as well. That is if you like range brass like I do. Wyr, My 9mm castings are from Lee six bangers, One 124 rn tl and one 1...

Ahemm , oh yeah.. priming that's right! So i got my new new primer trough on Friday and finally got most of my issues ironed out. I am becoming far more adept at detecting when a problem exists and nipping it in the bud. I still am getting a jam now and again but I can immediately tell when that hap...

Update here, The good news is my press has never run smoother. I can testify that my press is not the issue. On the other hand, my new primer trough is just not working out for me. Here's what it's doing. With the trough assembly off the press, I can fill the tray with a few primers and simulate pri...

Hey Y'all Not thin skinned mabey thick sculled however. But seriously.. last night I removed the shellplate and discovered that the primer pin spring had been bent over. I straightened that out and reinstalled the new trough and my issue went away for a bit, 30 shells or so, thought I had figured it...

At least my Lee six banger is working like a charm! ( at least now I feel better!) I will take another swing at the LM tonight and tomorr...

Been sitting here reading and looking for the answer all over the forum. So far,I hesitate to loosen the carrier bolt. I think I will take a hard look at the primer index pin / primer trough interaction as I know that's where things go south on me. I may go back to the old primer trough and just try...

OK, now I'll chime in...Smitty and me are in the same boat. I had my 9mm operation working pretty well with the old trough. I was on my second (spare slider that came with the press) I had slightly damaged it and was able to bend it back into shape. Changed over to 38 special after 1700 9mm and had ...
