Re: Loadmaster press is better it seems

I stopped doing the primer mods several months ago Horseman as I just don't have the time to devote to doing them since I brought my annealer to market. I did take the time to put together a guide detailing the entire mod which is available for purchase on my website to anyone who wants it. I do sto...

Re: Loadmaster press is better it seems

My guess is that you're probably right Horseman as concerns the new "normal". For what it's worth, I think that if Lee would harden the indexing rod so that it wouldn't wear as bad along its sides and come up with a more secure, or less fragile way of locking the carrier in position it wou...

Re: Indexing issues

I have seen this before and the easy fix for it is to preload the press handle to the right and realign the carrier assembly. I agree this is quite a bit of slop but I believe it will run OK if you do the above.

Re: New issues with reloading 9mm

If the primer trough is not contacting the two little bumps on the frame as the ram rises I would suggest that as a fix.

Re: New issues with reloading 9mm

The top cover of the primer trough should be level with the tops of the webs. You will have to apply some pressure (as the shellplate would) to check it. If it was sticking up as high above the web tops as you say yours is I don't see how your press could possibly operate correctly. Something has to...

Re: New issues with reloading 9mm

Check the small half-moon shaped shoulders surrounding the square boss on the carrier that prevent the case ejector plate from rotating. If they are protruding above the face of the shellplate, the nut and case ejector cannot hold the shellplate down against the webs in the carrier and it will rise ...

LM Primer Mod Guide

You know, the usual stuff, fishing, family, hobbies, building a few wooden gear wall clocks, rebuilding my cnc router, learning all new software programs, building a new website, camping, did I mention...

If the lion is peacefully sleeping, I recommend not poking him.

Re: No oiling hole?

You can, if you are so inclined, take the ram out of the press and drill and tap a hole for a grease zerk. If you do this, I would recommend that you use a Dremel tool or the like with a 1/8" diameter ball cutter in it and grind a groove around the bore of the press from the hole and back to al...

Re: So I've gotten Mike's goodies...

Now that you have the shim thing figured out you can actually not use the turret locking screw as the five setscrews in the stabilizer plate will hold the turret in place. Because of this you may now "clock" the turret into proper alignment with the shellplate if needed. With the stabilize...
