Thx for the reply Mike. I'm running with the nut pretty loose at the moment. I was experimenting with that while I was figuring out how far in or out the flipper should be adjusted to. It's indexing consistently now but the rod gets a little "sticky" in the carrier. I think a contributing ...

So the new (white) flipper started to get a little chewed up and it occured to me what is going on. The indexing rod is getting stuck in the carrier. Here is the sequience: 1. The carrier and rod desend in their stroke 2. The flipper makes contact with the guide rib of the frame 3. The rod being stu...

Mine was not threaded, and it was a bear. I had to soak it in boiling water to soften it up. My fingers still hurt..

I'm having issues posting my pic in the post above, any tips?

I got the white flipper installed. Had to put that sucker in some boiling water to soften if up first. I got pic's but I'm waiting for instruction on how to post them. I put some Zymol paste wax on the frame and index rod. I also put just a dab of gun oil on the tip of the index rod bevel and wiped ...

The flipper is long side up and the bevel is on the right, or my right, or facing East. :) I'll take a pic of the trashed flipper and the elusive albino flipper when I get home and post it up. I have seen several pics where people have rails that are scratched up as well as folks with pristine ones ...

Thx, I'll screw that lil'sucker on there and give it another go. I'll try some carnuba paste wax on the frame rib and maybe a little dry graphite on the rod. Once the indexing is sorted, the next hurdle is... priming station  then powder charge... then boolit seat... then crimp... then case f...

New loadmaster w/ extra flipper..?

After spending some time on this forum and watching a few videos, I got a new Loadmaster. Before installing any die's or the case feeder, I cycled the ram a few times to better understand the indexing system. I noticed it was a bit stiff but it was indexing. Well...needless to say, it is no longer i...

Noob Q on buying lead...

Is there lead that is too soft or too hard to use for reloading?
Could I make it harder or softer by blending?

I found a large supply of lead close by and I don't want to spend $ if I can't use it. I am mostly shooting .40 at cardboard.
