Resizing high-metal-head hulls

Whoops! I discovered after buying a shipment of high-brass-head hulls (what I could find and afford at the time - I know it's a marketing thing) that the resizing die on the shotshell press doesn't completely come off the head when you go to the priming station. I have suggested to Lee company that ...

The sizing difficulty I had was with low brass hulls. It turns out that several so-called "once fired" Win AA-HS hulls that I bought were multi-fires. I even had one that would not resize, because the brass near the bottom would start to collapse and bell out the closer I got to the bottom...

Compression rings on hulls after crimping

I have been experimenting with different components within Hodgdon's guidelines, and sometimes, the components don't entirely fit inside the shell (too wide, too tall). This can result in a hull that has a visible ring on the plastic body not far above the metal head. You might even notice that if y...

Powder Bushing Spacers

It seems to be customary for shotshell presses to have available bushings that don't give you the granularity that rifle powder charging equipment can give you. In other words, you go from say, 23 grains to 23.9 grains to 24.7 grains. Too large of a step if you're trying to make stable, predictable ...

Taking the powder bushing out without emptying the hopper!

Here's an idea on how you can change powder bushings on the charge bar without having to take the whole upper assembly off and emptying the powder. This only works if you are NOT using birdshot or anything in the shot hopper. Before you do this, you want to mark the left and right sides of the powde...

Yes, I've had good luck with the press. I want to add, though, that there is a learning curve with this press, such as how to structure your reloading process. These are examples. Usually, you would do one shell at a time, through all the stages. However, there is a safety issue with resizing/deprim...
