Re: Smiley faces when loading 40 S&W

When looking down from the top through to the primer pin. It appears that the pin comes through to the left side of the hole. Just a little. It is not centered. Sort of like the shell plate needed to go just a tad farther when indexing. Got any ideas about how to fix that.

Smiley faces when loading 40 S&W

I loaded a couple hundred 9mm's then switched over to load some 40's. After loading a couple of dozen I noticed I was getting smiley faces on every one the primers. What changed? All I did was change out the tool head with the set up 40 dies.

Problem with Lee customer service

I have been having an ongoing dialog with Lee for 2 months now about a problem I have with the 22 Hornet dies. Actually just the decapping and sizing die. It seems that Lee contends that all 22 Hornet bullets are supposed to be .223 dia. so they use a .222 decapping rod in their dies. The fact is al...

Case feeder difference

What is different about the large pistol case feed and the small pistol one? I know the hole at the bottom of the exit tube is larger on one than it is on the other. The reason I am asking I have access to another small feeder that I can possibly modify to work with 40 S&W and 45 ACP. I assume t...

Re: Pro Auto disk with adj bar not throwing well

It really is not. Removing a static charge is much different than "neutralizing"/degaussing a magnetic field. In my former life (having to work for a living) we had to deal with a lot of static charges on plastic materials running at high speed over metal rollers and such, and once the st...

Re: Pro Auto disk with adj bar not throwing well

I do that too. I didn't know it was called degaussing.

[quoteI degaussed the hopper....I took it apart and checked everything, cleaned it...played with tension on the lock nuts. but nothing fixed this.

How do you degauss a hopper? Inquiring minds (mine anyway) want to know.

New Loadmaster first observations

I have my new Loadmaster up and running. Have loaded a couple of hundred rounds of 9mm and 40 s&w. No problems so far. I did not crash and burn as some on other reloading forums have suggested about the LLM. The thing runs smoother than I was expecting. No flipped primers or misalignment or any ...

Hello from the "burg"

New to this forum but not to reloading. Been rolling my own since 1968. Have had many presses over the years but just purchased a Loadmaster so am looking to learn more about it. I am a 69 year old retired firefighter and live in Middleburg Fl.
