Re: Where is everyone?

I still check in here from time to time, but my duties as moderator on some other forums have taken up more time than I generally have, so my participation here has been less than I would prefer.

Credit card breach?

What do you gents know about credit card processing? I received a notice yesterday (Sunday) that one of my cards had been used for an attempted purchase from Walmart Online. Mercifully, the bank for some reason suspected that the charge might have been fraudulent, declined the charge, and contacted ...

Getting a Pro 1000 up and running

I had a Pro 1000 that came to me as part of a package deal that also brought me a Loadmaster. I have never used the Pro 1000, and I recently gave it to the son-in-law of a friend and fellow NRA instructor. The young man shoots in IDPA competition fairly frequently, and it seemed to me that buying am...

Re: New Lee Progressive Press?

If you use it with the Autodisk powder measure, the Autodisk works on the up stroke. It has nothing to do with the press, that's the way the device was designed. I'm seeing more reviews and more videos about this new machine, and most of the reports seem to be generally favorable. I'm keeping my eye...

Berry's bullets - load data

I've been loading Berry's plated bullets for many years, ever since I first ventured into reloading to reduce my cost of shooting. I'm not in a situation where I can undertake casting my own bullets, plus the indoor range where I shoot is an older facility with a ventilation system that's not exactl...

Speed up bullet sizing

I stumbled across an interesting video, apparently from Europe, that ovvers an innvative way to make bullet sizing go faster with the Lee Bullet Sizing Kit.

Re: New Lee Progressive Press?

I got the video to run. This new press looks like a mixed bag. It seems to eliminate some of the aspects that can make the Loadmaster "finnicky," so that's a plus. Caliber changes require swapping out four individual dies with their breechlock bushings, rather than simply switching turrets...

Re: New Lee Progressive Press?

For some reason, the video won't play for me.

Can it be used with the Autodisk or Autodrum powder measures?

Cast bullet lube question

I saw this thread http://forums.loadmastervideos.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2783 and before I saw it I had already studied the several discussions on other forums to which it refers. I have a special problem and I'm trying to figure out how to approach it. If any of you are familiar with th...

Re: Classic Turret press misalignment

I just went through the same issue. Mine is the original Turret Press, not the cast-iron Classic. It's a simple fix, and there's a video on the Lee web site that explains it. After many years of use, a few weeks ago I began to notice that when the turret rotated it didn't advance quite far enough to...

Odd-ball cartridge

Since we're in te "Odds and Ends" discussion area, here's a real odd-ball for y'all: I have an old black powder revolver, a clone of a Colt. The original, black powder chambering was .44, which allows for the use of .45 caliber metallic case ammo because the bore is the same. What I learne...

Re: Custom dies?

The new stem, along with a spare seating die, arrived yesterday. The die isn't really profiled to the exact shape of the Berry's semi-wadcutter bullet. Basically, Lee just drilled out the interior of the seating plug so that the outer perimeter bears on the shoulder of the SWC bullet, rather than th...

Re: Berry's bullet question

As an update, I made up a batch of these 185-grain bullets using 5.0 grains of Winchester 231, seated to 1.250" (which is what Berry's recommends). They shot VERY accurately, and recoil was minimal (which is what I'm hoping to accomplish). However, the brass came out very black around the case ...
