Wow and I thought $150 was a lot for a lube tool.

Hope you are doing like 5000 a month or something to make that kind of dough worthwhile.

At this point I would be happy to have a simple lee sizer and pan lube, nothing exists for 0.366 MAK at the moment.

If Lee would start making the Meacham lube tool ...

mak?

Postby carload9 » Tue Apr 23, 2013 5:23 pm

whats ya say? your casting makarov boolits?

I have a custom lee 9mm bulge buster kit, it says makarov on it. They prob did a mod to it or something.

I just have to have a magma, even if i dont use it to much. Time is time. Alox takes to long, lube dry size lube dry, overnite-overnite. Bottle says causes cancer on cali.. After 13000 its time for a sizer that lubes with bullet feeder. Hell, might get a couple rod end bearings and electric motor.

You did watch the vid above?

The guys on castboolits forum will make you a size die for mak.

I've had a Star for a number of years and still have a like, hate, relationship with it....used a Lyman 45 for years and years before I bought the Star, gave it (Lyman) to a friend that was just starting casting, now I really wish I had kept it.....

No i ordered a 9mm bulge buster kit year ago. Push thru size for brass. its a mak. says mak. I WAITED 4 WEEKS FOR THIS BB KIT.

Call rcbs monday ask for mak cast boolit size die, maybe they have one.

If not you have to order one from lee. If they make a .355 and .356, they can make you whatever. if I understand what your talking about. What dang size do u want? I HAVE TO WAIT 90 DAYS FOR MY STAR.

Go on cast boolit forum and ask if ya want a . whatever. A guy on there makes custom dies for the star.

I have a lee blank mold setting rite here, i will take to CNC machine monday for a 6 hole custom boolit mold. The cast boolit size dies are steel.

The guy is a Vendor on castboolits by the name Lathesmith. I've got 3 Dies on order now for my Star.

I've gotten a bunch of sizing dies and punch pins with lock rings from Lathesmith.

I liked it better when he delivered in a week or so. Now he is taking 8 weeks since the craziness started last December.

Lathesmith is good people and does good work. I've gotten several dies from him for my star.

I can't justify a fully automated star like that, but I wouldn't want to give mine up after pan lubing and using push through dies for years. Liquid alox isn't too bad, but is messy loading, and doesn't work for black powder at all.

How much faster that non-automated?

Postby NuJudge » Mon Jul 22, 2013 8:43 pm

I've come across two Star sizers for about $125 each in the past 10 years. I could not get the video to play, and I am just wondering how much faster the automation makes them.
