I wouldn't argue with a single thing GhostlyOne has stated, for a bolt gun. I'm not sure my .223 Mags would cooperate with that method.

Instructions are to screw the die in till it touches the shell plate and back it out one full turn and tighten the nut. Then put a shell in and start adjusting the seating adjuster till it reaches the OAL you want. I do this and with the seating adjuster all the way in i can't get to 2.250. I have to loosen the nut and screw the die in till it touches the shell plate and have the seating adjuster all the way in to reach 2.250. Is this normal?

Maybe you have the wrong bullet seater in the die. What bullet are you using?

I just found my instructions for the seating die, it's the dead length seating die from Lee. I youtube it and saw several videos showing it the way I explained with backing it out a full turn, but Lee says to actually make a 1/4 turn which makes sense.

I am all set to go, the only other thing I am thinking about doing is making a baffle for my powder measure out of a medicine cap by drilling 4 holes in it so the powder just trickles to in giving more accurate measure (I hope).

seating depth

I used Ghost One mentioned for years and it works fine for most rifles that have along enough magazine length. As Sparky mentioned, it probably won't work in AR15 mags. There is a reason that .factory. Ammo is crimped and that is so all ammo will work in most rifles and that it will start at the same paressure. In my bolt 223(Venture Predator) I have used the seat to the lands minus and just the OAL and using the FCD and my accuracy isn't affected much.
Same thing in my M70 30-06.
