You evidently don't have the proper codec for mp4 movies. I don't know where you can find them, but I'd try microsoft.com first. Do a search for codec or mp4 codec.

Thanks, I''ll try that Darwin. This old computer probably doesn't have it. If I can't just turn a computer and have it work, I'm lost.

Postby carload9 » Sun Dec 30, 2012 12:35 pm

me too myload, i do all this stuff with iphone 5. My laptop disappeared. I have no home phone, no cable, no wifi, no dish, no home pc. I have large antenna w/motor on chimney, get all channels i want. I had rather be in my heated garage with Lee stuff.

I want someday to have pc and learn how to edit with a camera.[/i]

OK, loaded the codec but still doesn't work by direct clicking the link here but I can save it to the desktop and open it with VLC.

Real nice vid and real clear.

I gotta have the bullet feeder though!!

I key is he's using his iPhone 5 to record; so you need the Apple Quicktime video software to view the video. Easily downloaded from Apple, free.

Thanks, Sparky45, I downloaded the latest stuff from Apple, did a repair on the app and did the codec to no avail. Don't know what the problem is. At least I can save it to the desktop or documents and then open it with the VLC program. Doesn't make sense but-----

embarassed to say, but ironic today that i said i mis-placed my laptop, if it had been a snake it would have bit me! Want some one near to teach me to edit with my nikon and laptop.

(myload) Everybody keep calling ricks phone # (mrbulletfeeder.biz) and just leave a message, or sometimes he will answer in arizona where he lives. Believe me hes working on getting singles made for pistol & rifle too. At 55$ price. But all should call. He did say give me 40 or 50 days. A mrbullet feeder is around 450 dollars or so! All we want is bullet drop (55$) and he will acomodate us.

Try this. Open "My Computer"

Tools
Folder Options
File Types

Find MP4, Choose "Change"

Hopefully, the VLC program will be on the list that pops up, choose that.

If that doesn't work, it's something in the browser you're using.

Darwin, thanks for the info. Tried it , found the program and did as you said, still doesn't open. It tries to open in quicktime, but all I get is a wide green line. I can see the progress cursor moving like it is playing but only the green line.
Thanks anyway, I'll play with it some more. At least I can get it to the vlc program and play it by saving it to a file or the desktop.
