Roller Handle

Postby Smitty62 » Fri Oct 21, 2011 9:35 pm

Has anyone checked with Lee to see if the new roller handle on the P1K can be fitted to the ones that are already out there? I'll send Lee an EMail but don't expect a response before next Monday.

It is in the 2012 catalog. I got one in the mail last week. The linkage does look different. I forgot to send Lee an E-Mail, have to do it this morning.

Look's to me the same linkage as the Classic Cast series

It's not the same as the classic cast, but it is the same as the breechlock challenger press. You would have to change the toggles and would also need the lever clamp. That's less then ten dollars worth of parts not counting the roller handle though.

Any idea on the roller handle price? I didn't see it on the website and I didn't see a price in the 2012 catalog.

No idea on the price but they will be releasing a kit to retrofit it to the P1K as well as other presses like the classic series. That is the response I got from Lee.

Titan now has them in their on-line catalog for 21.95 but won't be shipping until early Dec.

I picked up one of the roller handle conversion kits from Midway.

It works nicely. The linkage feels a little more solid, but the handle has a little "springiness" to it. Not enough to really matter, though. Primer seating felt a little better with this verus the original handle and linkage.

I'm on the fence about it versus a ball handle. Ideally, there's be a ball handle that could fit the linkage, but the one that comes with the Breech-Lock Challenger would interfere with the casefeeder.

Anyway, it's a nice option for someone who's looking for a roller handle.
