A key question is how many rounds per month or per year do you envision shooting? The reloading volume can affect the best press choice.

I meant to ask him that, JF, but my computer has been acting up.

A single stage press can be a really cheap and easy way to get started. I just bought one of those C frame presses on Ebay for depriming, priming, bullet pulling, etc.

Oldfella wants something a little more automated that a SS though.

Yes, that is key. I believe you can even run the Loadmaster as a "faux-turret" by only feeding in a new case when the previous round is complete. Then, as you get more comfortable, you can speed things up.

BTW - Do I need both the small primer and the big primer (.38 & .44 Special)?

.38 Special uses small pistol and the .44mag/spl uses large pistol primers.
