WTB "Old Style" 19s Shell Plate

Postby tcook » Fri Feb 05, 2016 7:36 pm

Looking for an old style 19s shell plate with the 5 indexing pins, instead of the "ratchet". I've had 3 different ones of that style, and none index correctly.

Please let me know if anyone has one.

I have one of the new style shell plates. It gave me trouble when I first used it.
I found by using a new indexer and indexer flipper with just that shell plate it works with no problems.

The 2 styles of shell plates wear the indexer rod differently so should be used only with the style they are broken in with.

Maybe different carriers will work different from what I have listed above.

Makes sense Steve; I'll give that a whirl since the new style plates don't work so well for me.

My problem was the new style 9mm didn't work from the beginning (new press configured in 9mm). The new style 45 shellplate worked great (and still does). Sent the first one 9mm to Lee, the replacement was no better. Bought another one... no joy.
I did find an old style, and so far, it's been fine. Have only run a few hundred since I got it, but indexing is very smooth now.

ETA: carload, I wish I had the resources you do!!
