Ammo Supply

Postby rowe_s » Sun Jun 16, 2013 10:57 pm

I'm starting to see a little ammo on the shelves again. A salesman at Scheels in Iowa City said they are gettin a little more. Hope things are turning around. I'm going to be screwed for 22LR for pistol class after 1 or 2 more classes.

I noticed that the mail order places are starting to have some ammo in stock now. I haven't looked locally, though.

I've seen some ammo online along with certain powder and primers. I found a sight that had cci small pistol primers for $35 per 1000, I got excited until I saw a limit of 2. They had remington primers at $45 per 1000 limit 5. I order 2 of each and some powder to offset the hazmat, still paid way to much.
Luck gunner has had 22lr.....500 for $191. I'm gonna give up shooting before I result to that.

I went to a shop last week while working in Guam and bricks of .22 were a ripe 320.
1k of wolf x39 was about the same price.

They check several different suppliers, give price and availability for each one.

My daughter picked up 3 boxes of Remington Thunderbolt 22LR for 2.17 a box (50 rd box) at Wal-Mart. (3 box limit) At the same time Fin & Feather had the same stuff for $5.00 a box. Pardon my French, but they can kiss my ass. Even in the futyure when ammo is available everywhere I will by it from Wal-Mart because they aren't kicking me while I'm down.

Today (6-26-13) I saw primers on a shelf again for 32 bucks a thousand. Things are starting to come back. Ain't it nice. And to those that have been ripping people off....... It will be a last resort for me to spend a dollar in their stores.
