i need invention

Postby carload9 » Mon Aug 12, 2013 8:50 pm

Ya wanta chip in, it would be nice. Prob some machine work. I want one and you may too. "A seat/crimp in one like below, if you try it with stock lee it shaves the bullet as it is crimping". What we need is one like guy below that seats then crimps lite. How'ed he do it?

This guy want give up;

yes, but

yes, but look at the top of his lee seat die. I can almost figure what he did. He just drilled and tapped top of lee seat die. Then it must push bullet in before it crimps. What you think?

you should know the reason i want one. Many loaders can use their hornaday or mrbullet boolit feeder. Makes the 5 hole LLM fully a functionable loader press.

OR IS IT A LEE FCD DRILLED OUT WITH THE BOLT IN TOP?

Yep Lee FCD w/bolt in top. I think it will still shave a little lead off cast bullets.

UPDATE RCBS & ?

Postby carload9 » Tue Aug 13, 2013 9:45 pm

update: I called RCBS today in california.

do not have to fab one and i ask 3 times to make sure rcbs understood what i was asking: yes they said, it will seat first the taper crimp. They had taper crimp and roll crimp. I told em taper crimp, is that correct?

Taper crimp seat die #20562/$21 dollars @ opticplanet.

The RCBS sizer i got back today is just smooth and thats it.

Those prople are so great at RCBS, they would let you trade for sonething else. They gave me and old model sizer/decapper and extra free pins. Took it to CNC machine and had it polished inside. Last nite i used it first, i am not lyin, it makes brass look new.

I need the taper crimp size die for station 5 because mrbulletfeeder.biz just came out with a 6 tube (lee type) carousel i intend to use on station 4 with my drop die from them. (380/9/40/45/45C/10mm) IMO, you have to seat and crimp in two stages, this one does,,, lee shaves boolit.

Below is youtube of new carousel:these peeps in europe make Ricks stuff

I can use the 100 rnd carousel on star sizer machine too. I have a vertical tube that holds 100 45acp for star (homemade pvc).

Is there any particular benefit the mini Mr. Bulletfeeder offers over the Lee Bulletfeeder?

I've been pleased with the performance of the Lee Bulletfeeder. In 9mm it holds 100 bullets and it doesn't take up one of the stations on my press. I do have to remember to hold the feeder action arm back when there's not a case present that needs a bullet but I've gotten used to that now.

I know some people have reported frustrations with the Lee Bulletfeeder. So is the Mr. Bulletfeeder just for those who can't seem to get the Lee version to work, or are there features that might convince someone to toss out a working Lee bullet feeder and switch?

Orville and Wilbur's plane flew but personally I would prefer something a little more refined. Just sayin'.
Put a load of open base or conventionally lubed bullets in the Lee and see what happens. I did and it didn't.
