Cratering Primers

Postby doranj » Sat Oct 04, 2014 7:38 pm

Hi guys, just wanted to though this out there. I posted previous that I was back home & got to shoot a lot. Anywho sorting brass today I use a few different primers. CCI/silver colored. Old Wolf that i picked up at a auction resale & Winchester / gold colored. Theses are mostly 380/ 9mm with the same charge in them. I do not load to max. 90% silver/ CCI showed cratering in the primer & Win/ Wolfe did not. No bulging of the case of any, but the cratering gets me thinking & have not been able to break out the chrony just yet. Next trip I will. Any thoughts.
Thanks
