Looking for opinions

Postby magic mike » Fri Feb 05, 2016 2:36 pm

Working on the case annealer machine I want to bring to market and I have a question.

Since the heat source is a standard BernzOmatic propane torch which almost everybody has in the garage or shop do you think I should offer the machine as standard without the torch and just offer it as an option? I'm thinking if you already have one why be forced to pay for another one?

What do you all think?

Thanks,
Mike

I have 4 torch's and really don't need any more. I'm for the bare bones setup. And, BTW, do you have any kind of price range in mind? I'm getting into long range target/bench rest mode and will definitely need an annealer.

Mike I believe your thinking is "right on."

I already have 2 propane torches in my shop & don't need to purchase another one.

I'd say it depends on how it attaches to your annealing system. The torch (minus the can) is a fairly inexpensive piece, unless it has auto-ignition, and the tip sizes vary. So I might like mine to be included. On the two I'm holding, the auto-igniting tip is 1/4" wide & the manual/std tip is 7/16"

Working out last minute details on first production model. So far so good. Getting real close to having it done so I can run some real world trials. I'll keep you posted.

You may have seen these videos, and aside from there being a super dual-feeder idea, there's some annealing videos as well, along with reference video comparing his ideas to competitive products.
