Epoxy Inlay Project

Postby USMCCpl » Fri Mar 11, 2016 9:15 pm

Ok. I really didn't know where to put this in the forums. So I decided to put it in this section.

Myself and My daughter are doing a epoxy inlay table top, countertop project. We are using pallet wood that I have ripped and cut and glued together to make two 24" x 96" tops. we wrote to some of the ammo manufactures and only two of them helped out with the project so far. Zero Bullet Company Is the only one we received stuff from to date. They sent her 45 ACP cases, 45 acp round point, and acp hollow point projectiles, 45 mag cases and projectiles, 38 spl cases and projectiles, 9 mm cases and projectiles, and 40 S&W cases and projectiles. two of each case and two of each type of projectile for the said cases.

Our goal is two get one or two unprimed cases of each caliber, as well as each type projectile to go with them. Then we are going to inlay them in epoxy on top of the pallet wood to make an awesome set of table or countertops. As you all can see by the list above we have a long way to go to get one or two of each caliber.

The lady at Zero Bullet Company said to try reloading forums and this is the only one I belong to. So I figured what the Heck it does not hurt to ask around to see who would spare one or two cases and projectiles of different calibers. Or someone who can point us in the right direction to get more cases and projectiles for the project.

Thank you all.

We looked at bass pro shops but the cases come in bags of 50 and that is way to many. Just need one of each.

Try calling some of the places that sell fired brass on the internet.

Do you have a shooting range nearby? You should be able to find all different calibers of brass on the ground, free for the taking.

I went to local range and found some. Kinda hard to find projectiles and I don't want to buy a bag of 50 when I only need one or two.

Barnes Bullets sent us a care package for the project as well. One casing, and one projectile of each caliber listed below.

243 Win
308 Win
35 Whelen
375 H&H
416 Rigby
270 Win
260 Rem
338 Lapua
223 Rem
300 Win Mag
45-70 Govt
338 Win
300 AAC

I will keep looking around. Thanks for the help and advice.
