barrel snake for cleaning barrel

kind of a dumb question but what are your opinions on using them. id be using it on a 26'' 308 match barrel. thanks sean

I use a bore snake almost exclusively anymore. Convenient, quick and effective. I'm sure for the "Purist" it's a no-no, but ALL my guns shoot better than I can any day of the week.

On my rifles, I use the bore snakes exclusively. The only down side I can see is that they get dirty easily. I have taken to cleaning them in my U/S cleaner and rinsing them thoroughly, Other wise I get concerned about them picking up abrasive materials and causing scratches in the bore. I probably have worn out 5 or 6 of them.
