Another new pocket carry

This is where we can talk about our guns. I'd particularly like to see reviews and range reports of your guns, especially if it is a model that others may not be familiar with.

Another new pocket carry

Postby carload9 » Wed May 08, 2013 7:55 am

yep, bought the taurus tcp 748 (380acp). Five mags of reloads with y cast boolits thru it with flawless 100% function. Taurus and Diamondback Firearms are now associates and i have a DB-9. They are helping DBF. Going to shoot again rite now, it's morning time at jim's indoor range. ANYBODY HAVE 380 BRASS THEY WANT TO SELL?

well , ya got the 454's. Oh well, that'll be fun to load.

Ive shot this lil' pistol bout 12 mags, i like it. Had 2 failures to feed with mixed reloads from year ago. There are some good ideas in this lil' one. I am impressed with brazil engineers of taurus manufacturing. I bought a pocket gun. oh well... The p3at would never work for me.[/u]

What bullet weight do you use carload? my favorite is a 122 gr cast bullet, velocity is real close to what the Lyman Reloading Handbook shows. I also have loaded some 100 gr, but I like shooting the 122 gr.

The 122 gr work well in my Bereta 85, Kel-Tek P3AT, and my daughter's Walther PK380. Also a friend of mine fires them in a Bersa. (In hot weather I carry the P3AT a lot, because it is easy to hide.)

380

Reloads are scaleing at 107gr, with lite win 231. I have a 111 gr 6 cav mold being cnc'ed hopefully this week.

This tcp738 never fails, all i had to do was set OAL lil' deeper and litely file a corner of the slide release inside near nose of boolits coming upward.

This trigger is better than keltec. Your keltec runs 100%? You know any keltec tricks?

Would you believe i sold this:

Didn't have to do anything to my Kel-Tec other than break some of the edges that bit into my hand when shooting it.

I can honestly say mine does run 100 percent if I use the air compressor to keep the lint balls blown out of it. Sometimes I carry it on my hip, then I don't have trouble with the lint.

i just dont get it, i had horror with three of em. jamomatic. No one tried harder. Shoot a taurus 380 if ya get a chance. Iam scarred to buy another kt380. Was skeeered to buy tcp but it worked out great. The tcp is suppose to be built to shoot all ya want. I have 1300 rnds and trying to find some more once fired brass/380. I have 400 or so once fired in the bucket if i get up and seperate that 5 gallon bucket of mixed pistol 40/45/380/9.
