There was a lottery draft in 71', got a high #. Went to phoenix after H school for a job. l think nam was over 72' or so.

I think I was #4 in Oakland County, Michigan in 1961. College deferment did not defer S##*! Wound up in Uncle Sam's Flying Club and finished college there.

Sometimes, l wish l had been drafted. Just caught up in a big machine. Dumb as a box of rocks l was, it might have been a good thing.

What did y'all use when you were in the service or as a civilion cop?

Occasionaly, a 50 cal machine gun.

What caliber were the .50 calibers? A local factory made barrels for them for a long time. They also made the Liberator pistols during the war and the .45 caliber "grease guns". The factory made lights, bumpers etc for GM.

I saw the millionth .50 caliber barrel recently, but to didn't show the caliber or a dummy round.
