1911s

This is where we can talk about our guns. I'd particularly like to see reviews and range reports of your guns, especially if it is a model that others may not be familiar with.

I had to add a little more gun porn :)

I got my Rosewood grips in today and a couple of 8 round magazines. I think the grips add just a touch of "class" to her. What do you think?

1911s are like Mosin-Nagants, once you get one, you have a dozen. I picked up a stainless 1911 Taurus .38 Super w/rail and gold plated accessories (the gold plate comes off if you sneeze on it, so they will have to go into storage). The plastic grips look great, feel cheezy as all get out though. For $450 shipped I can NOT complain! Always wanted a stainless 1911, wanted to try a 1911 with rails. Now I know I like stainless (need to pick up some more Hoppe's stainless steel lube now however. Supposedly the problems with stainless on stainless was cured, don't want to find out the hard way it wasn't), and dislike the rail. If I could buy another without rail I would snap it up. For half the cost it beat the snot out of the Kimber, but then so did the SHOOTERS ARMS (Philippine) 1911 at half the cost. At least both of them worked out of the box and didn't need extensive work to get to shoot.

I bought my very first gun just over a year ago and I decided to go with a S&W 1911 E Series 1911. I fell in love with the platform and if I had the budget I would own 15 of them. :-) The next one I really want to purchase is either the Springfield EMP in 9mm or the Dan Wesson ECO in 9mm. For fun here is a pic of my 1911 with the pewter grips I put on it:

Very nice. Where's you get that sign? :D

If you don't want to spend so much for a 9mm, Rock Island sells them.

I have a Rock Island tactical CS 45acp that I carry every day. It gets exercised about once a month at the range and I love it! Great guns for the money. There are a few pics of it on here somewhere I think.

A GSG 1911 .22. Not mine, but identical. Lots of fun on the cheap.
