I’m looking at getting a classic turret to load .223, now that I’ve started reloading 30-06 and .308 on the LM I want something dedicated to .223.

How much clearance does the Safety Prime really need with the Auto-Disk in place? Will the rifle charging die give enough clearance or do I need to go with the Auto-Disk riser too? Most the pictures I’ve seen are using pistol dies.

I’ve had the ‘I wants’ for a turret press for months now. Very Happy

Thanks,

Dave

I'd suggest calling lee Precision on the telephone and asking them.

Lee said that the Auto-Disk riser is nessary.

I will be ordering in the next couple days. Want to get everything needed in one order.

I'll post a follow up after I get it all set up.

Glad it worked out for you.

I hate it when I place a large order and pay shipping, only to find I forgot a $4 part and have to pay shipping a second time.

The riser is needed if you use the safety prime device, too. Lee should make it very clear to people.

I kinda wish he had folowed-up with a report because the rifle charge die is almost as tall as the riser. I might just investigate that myownself.

prs

PS: I did check and the rifle charging die is just a bit too short to clear. So, get the riser.

OK, I failed to follow up. Sad Embarassed

Been working in Fairbanks and very little time at home (couple days for Turkey Day and Christmas) since early November.

Like prs sez, rifle die is just a bit too short to allow the pro-disk to fully clear the Safety Prime.

Different rhythm than the progress, I have managed to stuff a couple bullets into the powder drop tube. Razz
